In the green hills of Umbria, Villa Serra is an engaging family home for 8 with long-reaching views of nearby mount Terminillo. In lieu of a pool it has an over-sized Jacuzzi with space for everybody to relax, it's a real pleasure to soak in company and a drink while enjoying the view. The house is surrounded by large green areas belonging to the property, has private parking and the road to reach the villa is comfortable and without holes, it is neither steep nor narrow.
This old stone farmhouse is within walking distance of the charming, egg-like village of Toscolano, a tiny medieval village, far from the classic destinations and unknown to tourists, inhabited by just a few dozen inhabitants and surrounded by the verdant Umbrian countryside, among centuries-old chestnut woods.
For those who decide to plan a holiday in Umbria, Toscolano represents a new and fascinating proposal. Strolling through the characteristic alleys, seeing wonderful views while walking along the paths, will make you rediscover the pleasure of the slow life of the past. Toscolano offers silence and splendid walks, observation points, panoramas, “home-made” kitchens, wheat fields, holm oak woods and chestnut flavors.
In the village there is only one bar (which also sells basic necessities such as milk) and which more or less opens on request. There are also two good restaurants in the village. A pickup truck brings vegetables, fruit and fresh bread to town two mornings a week, honks, serves and leaves.
Villa Serra has two living rooms, one with a large stone fireplace, and a large country kitchen with a second working fireplace. There are four double bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The two bedrooms on the top floor have air-conditioning.
Outside a generous pergola shelters guests from the sun, with a large round table with space for 12 diners. Nearby, on a terrace with fabulous views, the over-sized Jacuzzi provides a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views.
Villa Serra is set in the northern hills of Umbria, not far from the border with Tuscany, surrounded by beautiful historic villages and cities to visit. A short distance from Villa Serra, albeit in a detached position, there is only one other villa, while within walking distance you can reach Toscolano, a tiny medieval village, a collection of stone houses closely grouped into a defensive egg-shape, with a shop and a couple of restaurants.
It is a perfect house to live even out of season, being equipped with all comforts and being in a privileged position, not far from destinations such as Rome, Orvieto, Spoleto, Terni.
