Set on an ancient and extensive wine estate in the hills along the Era valley, east of Pisa and North West of Siena, Leccio is a wonderfully restored Tuscan farmhouse, now a luxury villa for 14.
Finished to a very high standard, this house sleeps fourteen people in the main house plus the annexe. The bedrooms are spacious and filled with light, the kitchen well-equipped and the pool can be heated if required. To stay here is a chance to experience the many delights Tuscany has to offer while surrounded by modern comforts and mod cons. Extra services such as catering, cookery courses, wine tours and guided bicycle tours are all easily arranged, and the surrounding area has good Golf courses, horse riding stables and Spas.
Leccio is listed under the following categories:
The villa sits just above a vineyard belonging to the estate, just south of its private pool.
Upon entering the house one immediately sees, on the left, the vast arched living room with its sofas and an enormous fireplace. On the right, you will find a large kitchen and dining room. On the ground floor, there is a large double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
Just outside the front of the house is an annexe, an ex "limonaia" once used to carefully store precious lemon trees over winter. Today it has been transformed into a spacious ground-floor double bedroom for older parents or a couple with small children.
The remaining 6 bedrooms are upstairs: two en-suites doubles with king-sized beds, 2 single bedrooms which share a bathroom (shower only), and two doubles that share a bathroom. One of the doubles has a queen-sized bed, while the other has a king.
The villa is well-placed to reach all the most famous tourist sights of Tuscany, with San Gimignano 40 minutes away, Florence and Lucca just over an hour, Pisa barely 30 minutes and Siena around an hour and twenty minutes.
More locally, the hills that surround Leccio are dotted with hill towns, churches and ancient sites - starting with the little village of Palaia with its circular castle at its heart - or a strange temple to 'Minerva Medica' hidden in a nearby forest. For those who love exploring on foot, the area is criss-crossed with footpaths and old, unpaved tracks, often leading to excellent wineries or old castles.

The charges are generally per person per night with a maximum number of nights, usually around 5 but sometimes 7, beyond which they will not charge. The charges range between 50 cents to 5 euro. Children are sometimes included, sometimes not and these charges should be collected by the property owners.
