Villa Cortona is a magnificent seventeenth-century villa surrounded by a private park of age-old trees, and framed by the gentle Tuscan landscape. It is just south of the Etruscan town of Cortona in Tuscany, and just north of beautiful Lake Trasimeno, in Umbria. This impressive residence was extensively restored around ten years ago, with the original frescoes, vaulted ceilings and wonderful spaces carefully brought back to their original glory, and modern comforts added unobtrusively.
Today it's a beautiful italian villa in Tuscany with 9 ensuite bedrooms, AC throughout, a large pool in the garden surrounded by plenty of furnished outdoor spaces to relax. Villa Ivana is a seventeenth-century historic residence transformed through recent restorations into a prestigious Italian villa with a perfect blend of history and modernity. Modern amenities mix with original recycled materials and local architectural features, creating a warm and authentic Tuscan atmosphere. The villa spans over 1,000 square meters, with antique furniture, precious tapestries, original chandeliers, painted ceilings, and splendid terracotta-tiled floors.
The ground floor has imposing living areas with decorated vaulted ceilings and frescoed walls, and features an antique billiards table. This level also includes a well-equipped modern kitchen, a TV room and a private chapel. The antique terracotta paving adds warmth and evokes the villa's rich history.
The upper floors have nine large bedrooms, including eight double rooms and one twin room. These rooms feature romantic four-poster beds and are complemented by splendid marble-clad bathrooms with inlaid marble. Access to these rooms is via an internal sandstone staircase behind stylish doors, leading to a frescoed living room that offers stunning views of the garden and the hilltop Tuscan town of Cortona. The frescoed rooms of the first floor have hosted important gala suppers for princes and presidents, including Italy’s seventh president, Sandro Pertini. The large windows in these rooms offer wonderful views, adding to the villa’s charm and historical significance.
Villa Ivana’s spacious indoor and outdoor areas make it an ideal location for a Tuscan vacation, cultural events, family reunions, and destination weddings. The villa is equipped with a private chapel, perfect for ceremonies. The completely fenced-in park surrounding the villa covers about 5,000 square meters, featuring a variety of centuries-old plants and trees, lemon tree pots, and a lush row of oleander bushes along the paved drive leading to the main entrance.
A large gazebo with stone columns, located near the swimming pool and the many entrances to the villa, is furnished with marble tables and chairs for al fresco dining and relaxation. The peaceful garden provides a serene backdrop for these activities. A large parking area is conveniently located near the main gate and tree-lined access drive.
