This apartment for 4 is on a Tuscan winery just south of Florence. The original farmhouse and annexes have been converted into apartments that allow you a taste of Tuscan life, surrounded by the vines that produce the estate's excellent wine.
All the apartments have been decorated with care and verve by the Laura, the matriarch of the family; the Vendemmia is striking as one of the bedrooms has been carved out of the old wine tanks in the old farmhouse. Each apartment has its own individual furnished outdoor space for rerlaxing, and there is also a communal covered area for barbecues and outdoor dining.
The nearby town is within walking distance, with a train station and restaurant 2km away, around 30min. The nearby train station makes visits into Florence easy and quick.
Step inside from the vineyard. As was common with many Tuscan homes, the kitchen is the heart of the home with an open fireplace and also encompasses the living area. There are two comfortable bedrooms, one twin with french doors opening onto a small patio, the other double, each with it’s own bathroom with shower. One of which is situated within an old built in wine vat!
The apartment is sympathetically furnished in keeping with the rustic style and pieces to decorate the apartment have been carefully selected to a tell the story and its origin. An old wine press stands in the hallway, a painted wooden gate makes a perfect headboard in the bedroom, and an antique ladder now holds the bath towels.
Outside is a secluded patio furnished for eating al fresco, but you can also enjoy other areas in the grounds for an evening aperativo, find shade under a tree to read… and of course enjoy the cool waters of the pool.
This old wine estate is on a slope above the town of Pontassieve, which can be reached via a path in about 10 minutes. From Pontassieve you can easily reach Florence by train, making a perfect spot to relax in the countryside but with easy access to the galleries, museums and restaurants of Florence.
You can also easily explore Chianti by car - or via an organized wine-tasting tour so nobody has to drive. Arezzo is not far south and can also be reached by train or car.
