Villas near Terni
The hilly, green and beautiful province of Terni stretches in a curious figure-of-eight shape across the southwest end of Umbria, squeezed in the middle around the long lake of Corbara. The beautiful city of Orvieto is in the north of the province, with a fabulous Cathedral and the spectacular well of San Patrizio, carved in case of siege, with a double-helix of pathways for donkeys spiralling down through rock to the water table. It's a green and beautiful region, with excellent food and some wonderful hill villages to explore.
