Villa Quinta is a sixteenth-century historic villa surrounded by a 9 hectares park planted with ancient rows of hornbeams, lime trees and oak trees that lead to a chapel, a dovecote and a fishpond. The park also contains woodlands within which you'll find statues depicting both realistic and fantastical animals and humans.
The main building of the villa is flanked by two arcaded wings, one of which houses this wonderful apartment, surrounded by an Italianate garden with a fountain, statues of Greek mythical figures, flower beds, lawns and bushes. Adjacent to the main building, a private garden is reserved for guests and has a swimming pool enveloped by oleanders, roses, and hydrangeas. Close to the pool there is also a changing room and a patio furnished with a wooden table, chairs, deckchairs, and a barbecue/grill area.
The owners still live in the main villa and a charming and hospitable hosts who are happy to offer their guests a guided tour of the beautiful Venetian Villa and Gardens, ending with an aperitivo together.
The park grounds are extenisve and include a football field and a fishpond where you are welcome to go fishing or simply enjoy sitting by the water, perhaps reading a book while dipping your toes in the sparkling water. Ample parking is available near the apartment entrance.
The guest apartment, located in the left arcaded wing of the villa, offers four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Renovated in 2004, the walls retain their original marble plaster surface, while most rooms feature parquet flooring and intricately decorated plaster ceilings. The bathrooms are adorned with hand-painted "Vietri" tiles and furnished with high-quality bath fixtures. Additionally, the spacious and fully equipped kitchen was completely restored in 2015.
On the first floor, a double bedroom with a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a tub can be found, along with a sitting room equipped with a sofa and a desk, as well as a washing machine and dryer. The entire suite boasts exposed beam ceilings and windows overlooking the porch of the villa's wing. A hallway leads to the dining room, accommodating a table for eight, and a kitchen featuring an oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, espresso machine, kettle, and toaster. Both the dining room and hallway open into the spacious living room, furnished with a large sofa, two easy-chairs, four arm-chairs, and a chaise lounge. This room is equipped with a bar, TV sat, stereo CD, and DVD player.
On the second floor, two double bedrooms with queen beds, a walk-through closet, and one ensuite bathroom with a tub are available. Additionally, this floor includes a sitting room with a sofa, a desk, and a CD player, as well as another bedroom with twin beds. One of the double rooms and the twin bedroom share a bathroom with a tub, accessed through the sitting room. All windows on the upper floor overlook the main Italian-style garden and the villa's facade.
Within the gardens there is a vegetable garden where more than 15 different kinds of vegetables and herbs can be picked daily for fresh italian cooking.
Villa Quinta boasts a strategic location, ideal for exploring the region's prominent cultural and historical landmarks. Treviso, Padova, and Vicenza, renowned for their rich heritage, are easily accessible from the villa. Of particular significance are the Palladian villas of the Veneto, designed by Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio and recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Villa Barbaro, also known as Villa di Maser, exemplifies this architectural style.
Within approximately an hour's drive, visitors can reach Vicenza, a cosmopolitan city with numerous piazzas, art galleries, and the renowned Teatro Olimpico, one of the few remaining Renaissance theatres worldwide.
A 45-minute journey leads to Padova, home to the oldest Botanical Garden in the world, and magnificent 14th-century frescoes including the Scrovegni Chapel, painted by Giotto at the beginning of 1300. The city is also distinguished by the historic University of Padua, dating back to 1222, where notable figures such as Galileo Galilei and Nicolaus Copernicus have studied or taught.
The charming town of Asolo, known as "The Pearl of the province of Treviso" and "The City of a Hundred Horizons" for its picturesque mountainous setting, offers an array of boutiques, local artisan shops and restaurants. The Asolan Hills and Mount Grappa provide opportunities for scenic excursions on foot or horseback, as well as cycling routes. Notably, a 60-kilometer cycling route passing between Treviso and Padova conveniently runs directly in front of the villa's gate, with a bike rental facility located just 2 kilometers from the apartment.
