This luxury Tuscan villa sleeps 11 and has been restored with great attention to detail both inside and outside. It is set in a privileged position on the slopes of Mont'Albano, above Monsummano Terme, an ancient centre with hot thermal waters that spring from a grotto. The views are spectacular and can be enjoyed from the covered loggia or from the large private swimming pool, with an infinity edge and a large hydromassage area for 8 guests.
This villa can be booked together with Villa Falesia, next door, giving accommodation for up to 30 guests.
For 50 years the owners of this beautiful villa have cultivated their passion for antiques, furnishing the villa with pieces acquired from antique dealers, auction sales or antique fairs. Of particular note are the beautiful doors, particularly the two 17th century doors in the central lounge and the one of the green bedroom on ground floor. The kitchen has a double marble sink, 250 years old and a collection of 12 ceramic tiles with zodiac symbols of the beginning of last century, over the stove. It's a very special place to stay.
On the ground floor you will find a large lounge-dining room which space for up to 14 people including a large fireplace with lounges and armchairs. From here you enter a second sitting room which then leads to a generour Tuscan kitchen with its own fireplace and antique style oven. On this floor there is a bathroom decorated with an antique basin and floor but with modern design shower. There is also a double bedroom which gives onto a covered verandah with table and chairs for eating overlooking the pool and hillside towns.
A stone staircase with a beautiful wrought-iron banister leads upstairs to three bedrooms. The master bedroom is large, around 300 sq.ft, with its own bathroom with a Turkish bath / shower and a beautiful view of the old town of Monsummano Alto.
A second bedroom is a little smaller and has a view over the valley, olive groves, woods and pool. It shares a bathroom (with a Jacuzzi bath and shower with light and aroma therapy) with the third bedroom which has two single beds which, on request, can be put together to form a double bed. This also has a pigeon-hole window which looks up to Monsummano Alto. Eight guests can be accommodated in the four bedrooms, an extra three guests can be accommodated on double and single sofa-beds in the central lounge.
Villa Alessandro is around 2.5 kms from Monsummano Alto, the old section of the thermal town of Monsummano. A short drive away is "Grotta Giusti", a luxury spa centered around a cave with thermal waters bubbling up inside. The historic towns of Montecatini Terme and Pistoia are close by, while the famous cities like Florence, Lucca and Pisa are all under an hour's drive away.
If you head north you can explore the Apennine mountains, beautiful valleys with villages and restaurants to explore.
