Villa Elisa 8

Contemporary Tuscan colonica and pool : Peccioli, Pisa

Nice little touches

  • The infinity pool has invisible edges on three sides, and on the fourth side there is a small waterfall for children, where the water is only 40 cm deep.

Located near Pisa, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and Volterra, this "mountain of wellbeing" bears witness to the passage of the Etruscans, Longobards, Templar Knights, and the noble families of the Granducato of Tuscany. Villa Elisa itself is a splendid example of a 19th-century Tuscan colonial home, meticulously restored with impeccable taste by its owners.

Adjacent to the villa stands a quaint rustic outbuilding, thoughtfully outfitted for cooking, barbecues, or simply unwinding in the serene surroundings. The property boasts an infinity pool graced with a Roman staircase, complete with hydromassage features and a charming small waterfall, ideal for family holidays. A sun-drenched solarium equipped with sunbeds, tables, and chairs caters to sun enthusiasts, while a wrought iron gazebo, adorned with divans and armchairs, provides a shady retreat. All of this is ensconced within a 5,000 square-meter park adorned with native Tuscan flora. The property's boundaries are secured by a surrounding fence with an electric gate, and Mediterranean trees and hedges ensure your privacy.

Around Villa Elisa

Nestled amidst serene hills, Villa Elisa is conveniently located just a 45-minute drive away from the historic center of San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its medieval architecture and local specialties such as saffron, the Golden Ham, pecorino cheese, and Vernaccia di San Gimignano white wine, crafted from the ancient Vernaccia grape variety grown on the sandy hillsides of the region.

A mere 35-minute drive from the villa takes you to Volterra, surrounded by picturesque olive groves and vineyards, boasting one of Italy's exceptionally well-preserved Roman theatres, built by the prosperous Caecina family during the Augustan era in the late 1st century BC and unearthed during 1950s archaeological excavations led by Enrico Fiumi.

Similarly, a 35-minute drive from Villa Elisa transports you to Pontedera, where you can explore the headquarters of the renowned Piaggio company, famous for crafting the iconic Vespa scooters. Pontedera also offers the Castellani winery and the Amedei artisan chocolate factory for your enjoyment.
