Villa Cuore is a large and imposing building poised at the very end of a ridge-top Tuscan village close to Arezzo. Once the heart of a wine-producing estate, today the old palazzo is acquiring new life, bought by a dynamic couple from the UK and New Zealand who fell in love, first with each other and then with this slice of Italian history.
Facing an enormous paved terrace supported on impressive buttressed walls that houses the ancient wine-cellars, the house has a formal layout, with all the living space upstairs on the "piano nobile" in large airy rooms, leaving the ground floor reserved for the owners' flat and a large games room that leads onto the terrace. The house sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms. The terrace is large paved space with beautiful views over the valley, an out-of-ground swimming pool, a gazebo, and a barbecue.
Here, you will find yourself at one with nature, surrounded by the picturesque landscapes of Tuscany. The villa's location allows you to indulge in walks in vineyards, discover hidden trails, and breathe in the fresh countryside air. Embrace the serenity of the dark skies, studded with countless stars, as you unwind and embrace the tranquility of your surroundings.
Enormous double doors lead to a tall hallway. On the left a door leads to the terrace via a larger, stone-flagged games-room.
Upstairs you'll find a simple kitchen on the left, a bathroom, and a spacious living room with a wifi and a flatscreen TV. From here a corridor has five large bedrooms and two more bathrooms, our spacious and one smaller. Half-way up the entrance stairs a further bathroom houses a washing machine.
The views from all the rooms are stunning, over rolling Tuscan hills dotted with cypresses and olvie groves.
On the large terrace there is an out of ground pool, a gazebo with table and chairs for outdoor dining, and a barbecue. Underneath the terrace tie the vast winemaking cellars, now no longer in use but once the engine of this important home and its estate; you may ask the owners if you'd like to see the cellars, but they're not normally open to visitors.
The village has a small shop within walking distance, while just below the village there is a restaurant, also within walking distance. Further afield, the house is ideally placed to explore the villages of the valdarno, the vineyards of Chianti and the art cities of Tuscany.
Arezzo is half an hour's drive away, Florence under an hour, Siena and Cortona an hour. If you'd prefer to explore Tuscany by train, there is convenient train station 15 min drive away in Montevarchi.
