An Italian Gem!

This is our first stay here. Having stayed in the area previously, we were taken aback by the panoramic views from the terrace. The accommodation is superb! It is very comfortable and well equipped. Our hosts were charming and helpful, especially about the restaurant recommendations in the local towns. All of which we found to be very charming. The lasagne from the local butchers in Piazze is a must!!

Dan was an absolute delight to work with as we planned our destination wedding in Tuscany. His intimate knowledge of each property and expert guidance on the region proved invaluable as we attempted to coordinate villa accommodations for 80+ guests with different housing requirements, preferences and budgets. He was extremely accommodating and flexible when COVID placed our wedding plans on hold for a year and our guest count dramatically shrank, requiring us to reconfigure our accommodations. We were finally able to hold our destination wedding in September of 2021 with 50 friends and family members, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome — it exceeded our expectations and was truly the best week of our lives!

The pictures do not do justice to the beautiful villa and surroundings. Everything is well maintained, and comfortable for all guests with en suite bathtooms. The owner is charming and easily accessible for questions or help. Walking distance to a small shop for fresh meats/cheeses/fruit etc and a small restaurant. 35 minutes drive to San Gimignano, 1 hour to Siena and take the train from Empoli station (40 minutes) for a stress free journey to florence. It was perfect.

We loved the farmhouse
”
We loved the farmhouse. The pool was great and the whole setting was kept immaculate by Claudia who was a star. He was discreet in keeping pool area and gardens clean and helpful with any other queries. Thanks for the olive oil and wine! The location was excellent and 5 mins from Radicondoli - easy walk- which had 3 good standard restaurants and a bar which had very reasonably priced drinks sitting amongst the locals. The farmhouse was very well equipped and although rustic was charming. Head out the back past the pool and you are amongst the olive groves and garden allotments and some nice quiet tracks around the countryside. Would definitely recommend. We didn’t have a car and that was fine as the village had everything. Would recommend one for access to other hilltop villages though.

Ideal accommodation and facilities for a large family group of mixed ages

We all enjoyed our stay at Docciole immensely, There were activities for all of us to participate in and it was a delight to share in evening meals outside. It was also well equipped for people to do their own thing occasionally if they so wished. We had a BBQ one evening helped by Luciano .Anna was always there to advise us and recommend cafes etc We began to feel part of the family by the end of the week.

If you want to stay in an authentic Tuscan villa this is the only company to use. Daniel - son of the founders Alan & Susan runs this business professionally and cares deeply about all of his clients. This is always shown if ever there are issues, with a personal touch second to none.
