In the medieval village of Casole d’Elsa, the Torre dei Serviti is a delightful small hotel, built partly into the city wall and one of its towers, reputedly designed by Francesco di Giorgio (the most fashionable military engineer of the early Renaissance until Leonardo came along…). The other part of the hotel is in a 15th century monastery and the whole hotel has been sensitively restored, to give each room a very individual feel and a sense of the history that permeates the building.

All rooms have a private, external front door, so guests can choose to bypass the lobby and walk directly into their rooms. The hotel has six bedrooms and one small suite – all different in furnishing, position and size. The room in the tower is particularly charming as it is completely round and looks out over three magnificent views: towards San Gimignano, towards the hills of Chianti and south in the direction of Siena. The hotel also has a sitting room with a fireplace and an internet cafè leading to a terrace in an embrace between the tower and the town hall.

Dinner can be provided, if booked in advance. Reception opening hours are 8 am – 12 pm and 3 pm – 9 pm.
