Private villa
Some houses are on their own – either magnificently isolated, or simply private. They range from large renaissance villas close to Siena or Florence to beautifully converted farmhouses in rolling landscape.
Romantic retreat
Some properties are particularly suited to finding time for yourselves. Some of the nicest places are small apartments in medieval hill villages, with everything, even another bottle of Prosecco, on your doorstep – others are hidden away!
Ideal for families with children
Ancient hamlets and rambling farmhouses are just some of our properties that families with children come back to year after year. Places where there are often other families with children, and new friendships are easily made.
Walk to restaurants and shops
It is a pleasure to arrive somewhere and then leave the car keys untouched! Perhaps because the house is in a village, or within walking distance – i.e. about fifteen minutes walk – of a restaurant or bar.
Luxurious or special house
Pampered luxury in a grand old family ‘palazzo’ , in an impeccably restored ex-farmhouse, or even a medieval castle. Properties that are special and luxurious.
Weddings and family reunions
Large, elegant villas or extensive groups of close farmhouses make for excellent wedding venues or places for classes or large family reunions – and we know agencies that can help with all the planning these events entail.
Apartment in farmhouse or villa
Old Tuscan farmhouses are often enormous rambling buildings – many of these have been converted into a number of apartments. You can still enjoy your privacy – there are generally private outside areas for each apartment – but you may meet fellow travellers at the shared pool.
Apartment in hamlet
Small hamlets, or large ‘fattorias’, in which a cluster of farmhouses have been converted, often have the added advantage of easily arranging for interesting activities such as cooking classes, horseback riding or even trying your hand at grape or olive harvests.
Village homes
More and more people are coming to Tuscany for the village life, where small shops, local sights, restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Some of our village properties even have gardens and swimming pools, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds!
Agriturismo
Being at a property that still hums with agricultural activity is often a fascinating experience for young and old alike. Your accommodation will have all the modern comforts, but the farmstead activity nearby will make you part of a timeless tapestry that is so much a part of Tuscany.
