Rome is a beautiful and complex city, layered with history and still echoing with drama and intrigue. Buildings like the Pantheon show this history on their own skin – built originally as a temple to all the Gods by Marcus Agrippa, rebuilt by Hadrian in 126 CE, it survived by being turned into a Christian Church, dedicated to St.Mary and the Martyrs.
