Why Tuscany and why go self-catering? Tuscany is a wonderfully varied region, with a friendly population, excellent food and wine, and stunning landscapes and art. Renting a self-catering property allows you to immerse yourself in the area and in the local culture - shop in the local markets, visit vineyards and taste the wines.

It can be difficult to choose which is the best place for you, so please feel free to ring us or email us to pick our brains - we take plenty of trips back to Tuscany and Italy to visit the houses, explore and find things for you to do while you are there. All our agents (see the full list here) also visit Italy and see the houses for themselves - this means that we can all give you good, knowledgeable advice about the properties and about the area.
Online booking
You can now also book online - we always prefer to talk to you, but this can be useful if you are looking at the property of your dreams and we are not in the office - you can make sure the week or weeks you want are held for you. There is no difference in price and you can run your whole booking online and never talk to us, or manage everything via phone and old fashioned post.
Who are we
Invitation to Tuscany is a personal, family run agency. Started nearly 30 years ago, we still deal with the same area which we know well and love, renting villas in Tuscany. We now also have some properties further afield, in Umbria, Liguria and Emilia Romagna, but all houses have something we makes us love them, whether they are a small, romantic cottage or a grand old palazzo. We have built up a reputation over many years for personal, reliable service and will always give you the best advice we can.
The head office is based in North London, UK, but we visit all the houses personally and choose them according to whether we’d like to stay in them ourselves. Dan Wrightson sketches many of the houses and the surrounding landscapes and towns, sitting in the sun for hours with only a glass of wine for company. We are members of ABTOI , the association of British tour Operators to Italy.
